According to Harvard Business School, taking note of what you’ve accomplished can boost your confidence and increase motivation.
As I’ve mentioned, studies show we tend to hang on to bad experiences longer than the good ones. But writing down something positive – especially by hand – helps us remember it.
And you can write it in a journal, on your phone or even in a text conversation with a friend. It all works.
The study found that the more frequently people experienced that sense of progress – by writing down a “win” – the more likely they were to be more confident in the long run.
If you’re a manager – or even a parent – try this exercise and have your team or your kids write down one win at the end of every day – and look at it the next morning. The study says, your positivity, creativity and confidence will rise!
